Fair River International Association For Development - Fariad, Accra, Ghana, West Africa

Ghana being a developing country has development problems which have to be attended to. Most of these problems affect women who form about 51% of the total population and mostly head of households.

Due to financial and cultural constraints, girls are not able to have he maximum education, hence the high percentage of illiterate women. About 80% of smallholder farmers and households' heads do not have access to extension services and credit to improve their farming methods to increase their yield and income.

This has got a negative impact on their livelihoods. Lack of basic education also has affected their livelihood, making them poor and depend dent. It has also made them ignorant of their civic, political, human rights, privileges and responsibilities.

Fair River International Association for Development – ( FARIAD ) is an indigenous, private, voluntary, non-profit, non-governmental organisation (NGO), founded in 1998 to undertake a wide range social and economic development activities aimed at alleviating hardship and vulnerability among marginalized and disadvantaged groups raising the image of women and empowering them economically.
